Iris Knobloch Re-Elected as Cannes Film Festival President

Iris Knobloch has been re-elected to serve a second term as president of the Cannes Film Festival, a role she has held since 2023. The decision was unanimously approved by the board of directors, reflecting confidence in her leadership and accomplishments. Knobloch’s second term will run through the 2028 edition of the festival.

Having previously been an executive at Warner Bros. France, Knobloch made history in 2023 as the first-ever female president of Cannes. In a statement, she expressed her gratitude for the continued trust placed in her, acknowledging the success of the past two editions and her commitment to advancing the festival’s values and initiatives.

Knobloch emphasized the importance of safeguarding the artistic excellence of the festival, championing creative freedom, and supporting emerging talents. She also pledged to continue empowering women in the industry, ensuring that Cannes remains a space for equality and recognition for all.

Her leadership will continue alongside General Delegate Thierry Frémaux and the festival’s dedicated teams as they work to uphold Cannes as a global platform for cinematic creativity.

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to run from May 13-24.
