Addressing the personnel of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday, the organization’s chief commander stated that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the nation in the event of a large-scale war or prolonged conflict.
As retaliation for the assassination of a senior IRGC commander, Iran launched “Operation True Promise” against Israel on October 1.
During this operation, Iran fired nearly 200 missiles targeting Israeli military and intelligence bases. Since then, Western pressure on Iran has intensified. In response, Iran has now declared its readiness for long-term and large-scale warfare.
Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the IRGC, stated, “For years, we have been preparing for large-scale wars and even prolonged conflicts with major global powers and their regional proxies.”
He further added that the strength Iran has achieved is the result of decades of relentless effort. Referring to “Operation True Promise” carried out in Israel, Salami remarked, “This authority is recognized. Our true promise (operation) was just a small demonstration of this strength.”
The IRGC chief also emphasized that the number of missiles and missile systems across the country is increasing daily. He stated that the quality, quantity, and design of Iranian missiles are advancing every day, enabling the Iranian forces to simultaneously target hundreds of enemy warplanes.
Salami concluded by asserting that Iran has never relied on any foreign power to safeguard its independence, identity, credibility, or authority.
