Amid the catastrophic wildfires sweeping across California, Angelina Jolie is stepping up to support those affected. A source close to the actress revealed that Jolie, 49, has opened her home to friends who were forced to evacuate the Los Angeles area this week.
“Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes, or are impacted by the fires,” the source shared. “She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate.”
The wildfires, which began on January 7 in Pacific Palisades, have caused significant devastation, with reports indicating that as many as 10,000 structures, including homes and businesses, have been destroyed. The fires have displaced over 80,000 residents, including several celebrities such as Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, and Ricki Lake.
As of January 10, authorities reported 11 fire-related deaths, with investigations underway. The fires are considered among the most destructive in Los Angeles’ history.
Jolie joins a growing list of celebrities offering their support. Halle Berry, in collaboration with Sharon Stone, has pledged to donate her entire wardrobe to those who have lost everything in the fires. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have also opened their home to loved ones displaced by the wildfires.
Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis and her family have committed to donating $1 million to aid victims of the disaster.
The Hollywood community continues to show solidarity, with efforts to provide both emotional and financial support to those who have been affected by the devastating fires.
