Israel’s Deadly Attacks in Lebanon; 21 More Killed in Gaza

Israel’s brutal attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip have killed another 21 Palestinians. These fatalities occurred since the early hours of yesterday due to ongoing Israeli strikes across the territory.

Meanwhile, Israel’s military carried out deadly attacks in Lebanon and also launched strikes in Yemen. This information was reported by Al Jazeera on Saturday (January 11).

The Israeli military claimed to have attacked facilities controlled by Houthi fighters in Yemen. Among the targeted infrastructures were a power plant near the capital Sana’a, as well as the ports of Hodeidah and Ras Isa.

In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes in the south killed several people. However, the Israeli military later stated that it remains “committed to adhering to the ceasefire with Lebanon.”

International charity organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has warned of a potential “catastrophic situation” for patients in Gaza’s hospitals as the generators run out of fuel.

On the other hand, since Friday morning, Israeli strikes across Gaza have killed at least 21 more Palestinians, according to medical sources who spoke to Al Jazeera. Since October 2023, more than 46,000 people have been killed in Gaza. The relentless attacks have left hundreds of thousands injured.

The Palestinian health authorities believe that more than 10,000 people are still missing under the rubble of destroyed houses across the Gaza Strip. Despite the UN Security Council’s resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel continues its brutal assault on this besieged territory.

Notably, since Hamas’ unprecedented cross-border attack on October 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out relentless air and ground strikes on the Gaza Strip. These attacks have destroyed or damaged thousands of buildings, including hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques, and churches.

Moreover, Israeli aggression has forced over 2 million residents to flee their homes.

Israel’s offensive has essentially turned Gaza into rubble. According to the United Nations, approximately 85% of Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced due to Israel’s barbaric attacks. The entire population is now experiencing severe food insecurity amid a dire shortage of food, clean water, and medicine.

Additionally, 60% of Gaza’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. Israel has already been accused of genocide in the International Court of Justice.
