Globe and Mail Report: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Likely to Resign

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been increasingly cornered in the country’s political landscape. Not only are opposition parties demanding his resignation, but similar calls are emerging from within his own party. In such a situation, reports suggest that the Prime Minister is likely to step down soon.

According to reports from Globe and Mail, Trudeau may announce his resignation as early as Monday, January 6. The report, based on multiple sources, was also cited in a Reuters article.

Reuters states that Trudeau is expected to announce his resignation as leader of the Liberal Party by Monday. However, sources quoted by Globe and Mail said they were not entirely certain when Trudeau would officially announce his plans to leave. They expect the announcement to come before a major national caucus meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
