Ronaldo happy in Saudi Arabia, but ‘want more’

The Portuguese superstar is looking forward to more titles at Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo has completed two years of moving to Saudi Arabia after completing European club football lessons. He will be 40 years old in a month. Although he is still very bright in the green courtyard by showing the thumb of age. However, the Portuguese superstar is looking forward to more success in Al Nassr without lifting the pile of satisfaction.

After leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo joined Al Nassr on a free transfer on December 30, 2022. He has scored 74 goals in 83 matches for the Saudi Pro League team so far. The Portugal captain was recently named the best footballer in the Middle East in 2024 at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Ronaldo, who turns 40 on February 5, said on the Saudi Pro League’s own channel on Friday that he is happy in the country.

“I am happy and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country. Life here is fun, football is enjoyable. Individually and as a team, we are still improving. ”

Ronaldo is the most successful scorer in international football, scoring more than 900 goals in his professional career. Since his arrival, he thinks the Saudi league has been moving in the right direction.

“It’s an honour for me that the standard of the league is rising and there are so many star players coming in to make the league better and more competitive. It’s an honor for me to be here as the first star. I want to see the league continue to improve in the next five to 10 years. Not just the core teams, but the academies as well.
Ronaldo has so far won one title with Al Nassr – the Arab Club Championship Cup in 2023. In his first full season at the club, he scored a Saudi Pro League record 35 goals last season.

“Winning trophies makes everything easier and winning my first trophy in my first year here was amazing. But I want more. I will continue to help Al Nassr win titles. I believe this year will be good for Al Nassr. ”

Al Nassr finished second in the Saudi Pro League behind defending champions Al Hilal last season. The team is now fourth this season. They are 11 points behind Al-Ittihad at the top. Although the path to winning the title is difficult, Ronaldo wants to try till the end.

“It is difficult to compete with teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad. But we’re still on the road, we’re still fighting. Football is like that; There are good and bad moments. But the most important thing for me is to be professional, to respect the club, to respect the contract.
