India to Host Inaugural World Audio-Visual Entertainment Summit in February 2025

India will host the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) for the first time in February 2025, marking a key milestone in the country’s entertainment sector. Scheduled from February 5 to 9, the summit will bring together media and entertainment leaders, along with creative minds from around the world, to explore collaboration, innovation, and India’s rising influence in global content creation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the summit during his monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat, calling it a significant step in positioning India as a global hub for creative industries. He highlighted that the summit aligns with India’s ambition to become a five-trillion-dollar economy, emphasizing the role of the creative economy in this growth.

PM Modi encouraged youth and professionals from across the media and entertainment sectors, including Bollywood, regional cinema, animation, gaming, and entertainment technology, to participate and contribute their ideas. He urged both emerging creators and established artists to seize this opportunity to showcase their innovations on a global stage.

The WAVES Summit is designed to be a platform for fostering global collaborations, showcasing India’s creative talents, and highlighting advancements in various entertainment fields. PM Modi described the event as a vital opportunity for India to establish itself as a major player in the world of content creation, attracting international attention and industry leaders to discuss emerging trends and challenges in the sector.
