Actress Dayle Haddon Dies at 76 in Suspected Carbon Monoxide Incident

Dayle Haddon, the Canadian actress and model known for her iconic beauty campaigns and film roles, passed away on Friday at the age of 76. According to local authorities, her death is suspected to be the result of carbon monoxide poisoning at the Bucks County, Pennsylvania home of her son-in-law, actor Marc Blucas, best known for his role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Haddon was discovered inside the residence, where police detected high levels of carbon monoxide. A malfunctioning heating unit is believed to be the cause, though it is unclear if Blucas was present at the time.

Born in Montreal, Haddon began her career as a ballet dancer before transitioning to modeling. She became a household name as the face of major brands like Revlon, Estee Lauder, Clairol, and Max Factor, appearing on the covers of Vogue and Sports Illustrated. Harper’s Bazaar twice named her one of the “Ten Most Beautiful Women.”

In the 1970s, Haddon pivoted to acting, with credits in films such as The World’s Greatest Athlete, North Dallas Forty, and Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway. Later in life, she became a spokesperson for L’Oreal’s anti-aging campaigns and authored the book Ageless Beauty: A Woman’s Guide to Lifelong Beauty and Well-Being.

Beyond her professional achievements, Haddon was a dedicated philanthropist, serving as a UNICEF ambassador and founding WomenOne, a nonprofit focused on expanding educational opportunities for women globally.
