Israeli Attacks Across Gaza Claim 58 Lives in a Single Day

Israeli military operations across Gaza have intensified, resulting in the deaths of 58 Palestinians within the last 24 hours. These casualties include individuals who had sought refuge in the designated “safe zone” of al-Mawasi, located in southern Gaza. The ongoing assault underscores the relentless nature of the conflict.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestinian refugees has condemned the escalation in Gaza. The agency’s head criticized the increasing attacks on critical infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, which have now become alarmingly frequent.
In North Gaza, the Kamal Adwan Hospital remains under siege, with its director highlighting the near-impossibility of complying with Israeli evacuation orders. The hospital currently houses nearly 400 civilians, including newborns dependent on oxygen and incubators. Bombardments targeting the hospital continue unabated, drawing condemnation from Hamas, which has labeled the attacks an “unprecedented crime against humanity.”
Meanwhile, Israeli forces have launched a significant bombing campaign on Kfar Kila, a town in southern Lebanon. This operation violates a ceasefire agreement reached just a month ago, according to reports from local media.
The death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, stands at a staggering 45,317 Palestinians, with an additional 107,713 reported wounded. The conflict was triggered by Hamas-led attacks on Israel, which claimed the lives of 1,139 individuals and saw more than 200 people taken hostage.
In other developments, three Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting Rafah and Khan Younis. In the occupied West Bank, at least 10 Palestinians were arrested by Israeli forces overnight, according to prisoners’ rights groups.
On the political front, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in a Tel Aviv court to continue his testimony in a long-running corruption trial. Simultaneously, Israeli authorities persist in issuing evacuation orders, prompting further displacement among the Palestinian population.
In Lebanon, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati visited army positions in the south. This visit comes nearly a month after the ceasefire agreement that temporarily halted hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with the international community calling for an end to the violence and a resolution to the ongoing crisis.
