Ivanka Trump Steps Away from Politics, Embraces Private Life and Humanitarian Work

For much of her adult life, Ivanka Trump worked closely with her father, Donald Trump. Whether designing hotels during his real estate career, joining him on the set of his reality TV show, or supporting his campaigns and presidency from the West Wing, she was a constant presence by his side.
However, in January 2021, Ivanka made a significant shift—leaving Washington, D.C., and stepping away from her father’s employ for the first time since she was 23. Now, Ivanka Trump has made it clear she is done with politics and has no plans to return.
“I love my father very much. This time around I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she shared in a 2022 social media post following Donald Trump’s announcement of his third presidential campaign.
This sentiment remains unchanged even after her father’s 2024 election victory. According to sources close to Ivanka, she and her husband, Jared Kushner, continue to focus on maintaining a private life in Miami, Florida, where they have largely stayed out of the public eye over the past four years.
A Brief Return to the Public Eye
While Ivanka has largely retreated from public life, she was compelled to make a temporary return in 2023 when she testified in a New York civil fraud trial against her father and his company. Her testimony centered on her role in negotiating loans for Donald Trump’s acquisitions of the Doral resort in Florida and the Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C.
Notably, Ivanka was absent from the courtroom during her father’s hush money trial earlier this year. After his conviction on 34 charges of falsifying business records, she traveled to New York to support him but stayed out of the public eye at Trump Tower. Donald Trump, who pleaded not guilty, continues to deny wrongdoing in all cases against him.
Meanwhile, Ivanka’s brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have stepped up as vocal supporters of their father’s “Make America Great Again” movement. Eric Trump’s wife, Lara Trump, also played a prominent role as a spokesperson and co-chair of the Republican National Committee. However, Lara recently withdrew her candidacy for a potential Florida Senate seat after signaling initial interest.
A New Path Forward
With her political career firmly in the rearview mirror, Ivanka Trump is now channeling her efforts into humanitarian work and community-focused initiatives. A source close to her revealed that she is committed to addressing issues like food insecurity, supporting farmers, and disaster relief through nonprofit activities.
“She is choosing to use her influence now on a more personal level to positively impact her own community,” the source said. “This allows her to focus on her young children and their privacy while making meaningful contributions.”
Ivanka has been involved in various efforts, including aiding victims of the Hawaii wildfires and North Carolina hurricanes, volunteering with Ukrainian refugees in Poland, and helping at a local kosher food bank.
Dave Donaldson, president of CityServe, a nonprofit organization where Ivanka has volunteered, praised her dedication, referring to her efforts as a “compassion portfolio.”
As Ivanka Trump embraces this new chapter, her focus remains on her family and community, stepping away from the political spotlight to make a difference in a quieter, more personal way.
