Netrokona, Bangladesh: Moni Karmakar Moni, Vice Chairman of Purbadhala Upazila and a local Awami League leader, has alleged brutal violence against his family due to his political affiliation and religious identity.
Karmakar, who identifies as a Hindu and aligns himself with the ideals of Bangabandhu, stated that his minor school-going children were unjustly arrested, while his mother and sister faced a violent attack.
In the gruesome incident, his mother’s fingers were reportedly cut off, and his sister’s throat was slit in an attempt to kill her. She is currently fighting for her life. Karmakar strongly condemned the attack, questioning whether his faith and political role justify such violence and urging justice for his family.
This incident highlights the rising concerns over targeted violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh just being continued in non stop manners.
