Barry Keoghan Steps Away from Instagram After Online Abuse

Barry Keoghan has taken down his Instagram account following a surge in online trolling that he feels has gone too far. The actor, known for his role in Saltburn, shared his decision to leave the platform after receiving hateful comments about his personal life, appearance, and parenting.

In a candid post on X (formerly Twitter), Keoghan explained that the negativity surrounding him had become overwhelming. “I’ve tolerated a lot, but my name has been dragged through the internet in ways I usually ignore. But now, it’s reached a point where it’s crossed too many lines,” he wrote.

The actor expressed his frustration at the “disgusting” lies and hateful messages, saying that he had been criticized for things related to his character, his role as a parent, and even his upbringing. Keoghan also shared that the harassment had gone beyond the internet, with people even showing up at his grandmother’s house and outside his son’s home.

Keoghan, who has always strived to be a positive influence for his family, reflected on how these attacks were affecting him. “Every day, I work hard to be the healthiest and strongest for my son,” he said. “I want him to trust me and look up to me. But these lies will eventually reach him, and it breaks my heart.”

He ended his post by asking for respect and understanding, urging people to think about the long-term consequences of their words. “Please be respectful to all. Thank you.”
