Honda Launches Third-Generation Amaze in India with Enhanced Safety Features

NEW DELHI,– Honda has unveiled the third-generation Amaze in India, aiming to strengthen its position in the competitive compact sedan segment. The latest iteration of the Amaze comes with several notable upgrades focused on safety, comfort, and connectivity, including the introduction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) via Honda SENSING.

Designed under Honda’s “Elite Booster Sedan” concept, the new Amaze features a refreshed exterior with LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, a bold grille, and 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The interior boasts a two-tone dashboard, rear AC vents, and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

One of the standout features of the Amaze is the inclusion of ADAS, which uses multiple cameras to scan the road for potential obstacles and activate safety functions such as collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and auto high beam. In addition to these, the car comes with six airbags, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Under the hood, the Amaze is powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine that complies with BS6 Phase-II and E20 standards. It is available with a five-speed manual or CVT with paddle shifters, offering fuel efficiency of 18.65 km/l for the manual and 19.46 km/l for the CVT. However, performance and efficiency updates remain largely similar to the outgoing model.

The car also features wireless charging, a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster, and Honda Connect, which provides over 37 connected car functions, such as remote engine start and vehicle tracking. Despite these advancements, the new Amaze does not offer a sunroof, a feature available in competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Priced between ₹7,99,900 and ₹10,89,900 (ex-showroom), the new Amaze directly competes with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which continues to lead the segment with a reputation for reliability and a comprehensive feature set. Honda, however, is banking on the Amaze’s strong safety features and compact yet practical design to appeal to urban buyers.

Since its debut in 2013, the Honda Amaze has sold over 5.8 lakh units, and the third-generation model aims to further solidify its place in this highly competitive segment.
