A total of 28 ambassadors from the European Union (EU) will meet with Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, on Monday, December 9.
This will be the first time that ambassadors from 27 EU countries, along with the EU mission chief in Dhaka, will hold a joint meeting with the head of Bangladesh’s government.
The announcement was made by the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, during the ministry’s weekly briefing on Thursday.
Meeting Agenda
Rafiqul Alam stated that the ambassadors, including 20 non-resident ambassadors, are expected to discuss a range of issues during the meeting. The talks will focus on reviewing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the EU, exploring new areas of cooperation, the future of GSP Plus trade benefits after Bangladesh’s graduation from LDC status, climate change, Rohingya repatriation, and the shared commitment of both parties to building a sustainable future.
The meeting is seen as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Bangladesh and the European Union.
