Extra BSF member deployed at Bangladesh boarder

In light of the current situation in Bangladesh, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified security measures along the India-Bangladesh border. According to a report by Indian news agency ANI on Wednesday, the BSF has deployed additional personnel along the border in response to increasing violence and instability in Bangladesh.

The report highlights that the situation escalated following an attack on the office of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala, Tripura, on December 2. Due to Tripura’s geographical proximity and cultural ties with Bangladesh, tensions have risen significantly in the state.

In response, Indian authorities have increased patrols and surveillance along the border. The report mentions that BSF personnel have been instructed to remain on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents.

BSF Second-in-Command Rajesh Kumar Langeh stated that additional BSF members have been deployed to ensure maximum security along the India-Bangladesh border. He said, “In light of the current situation in Bangladesh, the BSF has heightened its vigilance to ensure the safety of the border. Additional personnel have been deployed.”

He emphasized that the BSF remains on high alert 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring the border’s security. According to him, BSF personnel are committed to their responsibilities and prepared to handle any situation effectively. He added, “There hasn’t been a situation at the border that the BSF couldn’t handle so far.”

BSF Constable Priyanka Mukherjee, sharing her experience, said, “I have been working with the BSF for four years. While performing our duties, we feel empowered. This instills confidence in women across society, showing that we can take responsibility.”

Another BSF constable, Mukuriya Ila, who has been stationed in Agartala for the past three years, shared her perspective. She said, “I am a resident of Gujarat and currently serve at the Echo Communication Checkpoint of the 81st Battalion of the BSF. My family initially opposed my joining such a duty, but serving in the armed forces has always been my dream. The BSF provides us with security and all necessary facilities. I am proud and happy to be a part of the BSF.”

She further encouraged women to join the BSF, saying, “If men can perform these duties, so can we as women.”
