Sarjis Alam Indicates War Against Hindus Who Support India

DHAKA – In a controversial speech, student coordinator Sarjis Alam signaled a readiness to take action against Hindus in Bangladesh who he claims are loyal to India. His remarks, made during a public address, have sparked outrage and raised concerns about the safety of religious minorities in the country.

In his speech, Sarjis Alam stated:

*“Look, we are clearly saying that Bangladeshi Muslims are peace lovers. We have sympathy for other religions, but if anyone wants to abuse this sympathy—specifically the people who are India lovers—they live in Bangladesh, but their heart belongs to India. When they go to India, they indulge themselves in conspiracy, and they execute that conspiracy in Bangladesh. To defeat those kinds of Hindus, we won’t show any mercy at all, especially those who didn’t support the July movement and those who support the Awami League.

This ISKCON is a miscreant organization. People who support ISKCON will have no mercy from us. People who are trying to establish Hinduism in Bangladesh must be defeated immediately. We urge the Yunus government to bring them under strict punishment.”*

The inflammatory remarks have drawn criticism from minority rights groups and political observers, who warn that such rhetoric could incite violence against Hindus and deepen religious divisions in the country. Advocates have called on the government to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, regardless of their religious or political affiliations.
