Where Are You Going, Joe?

Russian Media Mocks Biden Over Amazon Walk and Ukraine Silence Biden Mocked for Avoiding Ukraine Questions During Brazil Visit

Russian state media mocked US President Joe Biden after he appeared to “wander off” into the Amazon rainforest during a press conference in Manaus, Brazil. The conference, part of Biden’s visit for the G-20 Summit, focused on a multimillion-dollar plan to reforest the Amazon and his administration’s investments in clean energy.

However, Biden took no questions on the United States’ recent decision to authorize Ukraine’s use of long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to strike military targets inside Russia, a move seen as a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.

RT Posts Viral Clip of Biden’s Amazon Exit

The Russian state-controlled media outlet RT posted a video of Biden on X (formerly Twitter), commenting, “Biden finishes press conference, answers no questions, wanders off into the Amazon Jungle.” The clip showed Biden in a loose-fitting blue outdoor shirt and sunglasses, waving to the audience before unexpectedly walking toward the forest instead of taking the designated path.

RT’s caption, “Where you going, Joe?” sparked widespread attention, with many interpreting it as a jab at the president’s demeanor and decision-making.

Russian Media Criticizes Biden’s Ukraine Policy

This was the second mocking post by RT within 24 hours regarding Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine access to ATACMS missiles. Earlier, RT shared a graphic showing Biden smiling alongside a headline about the missile clearance. The caption read, “Joe Biden planning his final vacation as US president be like.”

The Biden administration’s decision to grant Ukraine permission to strike inside Russia has drawn sharp criticism from the Kremlin. Russian spokesperson Dmitry Peskov accused the US of “throwing oil on the fire,” suggesting the move signals Washington’s direct involvement in the conflict.

Trump Allies Respond to Biden’s Decision

President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to take office on January 20, has remained silent on the missile authorization. However, his son, Donald Trump Jr., criticized the decision, claiming, “The military-industrial complex seems to want to make sure they get World War III going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives.”

During his campaign, Trump vowed to negotiate a resolution to the Ukraine war, a promise that contrasts with Biden’s recent escalation of support for Kyiv.

A Tumultuous End to Biden’s Presidency

Biden’s actions in Brazil and his handling of the Ukraine conflict have prompted both international scrutiny and domestic debate. The juxtaposition of his conservation efforts in the Amazon with a major military policy decision has provided fertile ground for criticism, particularly from Russian state media and political opponents at home.
