Trump Nominates Former Director of Intelligence John Ratcliffe to Lead the CIA


Ratcliffe, a Former Texas congressman, ardently supported Donald Trump during Trump 1.0 administration.
President-elect Trump declared on Tuesday that his candidate to head the CIA would be John Ratcliffe, a former congressman from Texas who held the position of director of national intelligence during Trump’s initial term, the New York Times reported.

Trump referred to Ratcliffe as a “champion for Truth and Honesty with the American Public” on his social media platform. In his capacity as national intelligence director, Ratcliffe acted as the president’s principal advisor on intelligence matters.

During his tenure as a congressman, Ratcliffe advocated for Trump, assisting in the investigations concerning Hunter Biden, the president’s son, while consistently denouncing the inquiries into the connections between Russia and Trump’s 2016 campaign.
