US Embassy warns visa applicants: Lying could lead to US entry ban

- October 06, 2026, 12:48 AM ET

The US Embassy in Dhaka has warned visa applicants against providing false information during their visa interviews, saying dishonesty could result in a ban on entering the United States.

In a Facebook post on Saturday (October 3), the embassy advised applicants to answer questions truthfully during their interviews.

“Consular officers are aware of any past violations of immigration laws,” the embassy said, urging applicants to be honest when answering questions.

It further warned that providing false information could lead to the applicant being barred from entering the United States.

The advisory comes as a reminder to visa applicants that information provided during the application and interview process should be accurate and complete.
