Florida – A unique museum dedicated entirely to jellyfish has opened in Pompano Beach, Florida, offering visitors an immersive experience that combines marine life, science and art.
The attraction, described as the first museum in the United States devoted exclusively to jellyfish, spans about 10,000 square feet (900 square metres) and features around 20 species displayed across 21 specially designed tanks.
Set against a darkened interior illuminated by blue and purple neon lights, the jellyfish appear to float through the water in a constantly changing display. Their translucent bodies catch and refract the coloured light, creating an experience that resembles a scene from a science-fiction film.
More than 500 million years of history
Beyond its visual appeal, the museum highlights the extraordinary evolutionary history of jellyfish.
Jellyfish are believed to have existed in Earth’s oceans for more than 500 million years—long before dinosaurs appeared and even before the emergence of trees. Their long evolutionary history makes them among the planet’s most ancient marine animals.

Ukrainian aquarium designers behind the attraction
The museum was developed by aquarium designers from Ukraine, who created a facility focused exclusively on jellyfish rather than presenting them alongside a broad range of marine species, as is common in conventional aquariums.
The attraction is expected to appeal particularly to families, children and visitors interested in marine life and unusual travel experiences.
