Wisconsin’s election day operations are progressing smoothly, according to Meagan Wolfe, administrator of the state Elections Commission. In a Tuesday morning news briefing, Wolfe reported that “everything is going well,” noting that all polling locations opened on time without any issues. “No issues have been reported to the state commission from any of the state’s roughly 3,700 polling places, including no reports of threats,” Wolfe stated. Wisconsin’s polling sites are managed by municipal clerks rather than the state commission.
High Turnout Expected as Early Voting Reaches Half of 2020 Level
About 1.6 million Wisconsin voters have already cast ballots through early voting or mail-in ballots, representing roughly half of the total turnout in the 2020 election. Wolfe noted that this suggests a “busy day at the polls,” with a large number of voters expected to cast ballots in person.
