Bangladeshi Actor Masud Ali Khan Dies at 95

Renowned Bangladeshi actor Masud Ali Khan has passed away at the age of 95. He died at his home in Dhaka on October 31. His death was confirmed by local media.

Masud had been ill for some time and had been hospitalized several times for treatment. Despite ongoing medical care, he passed away at 4:20 PM at his residence on Green Road.

Masud began his career in theater and later made his television debut when the Dhaka TV station opened. He also gained recognition in film, appearing in nearly 500 plays over more than five decades and becoming a well-known figure in Bengali theater.

Born on October 6, 1929, in the village of Paril Naodha, Manikganj, his father was a government employee and his mother was a homemaker. He completed his higher secondary education in 1952 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Jagannath College two years later. He debuted on television with the drama “Bhai Bhai Sobai” in 1964 and started his film career with “Nodi O Nari.”

Masud married Tahmina Khan in 1955 and had one son and one daughter. He worked in various government departments and retired as the Secretary of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation in 1988. Throughout his career, he portrayed diverse characters in numerous productions.
