The legendary Salahuddin era is ending in Bangladesh football

Kazi Salahuddin, who has served as the president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for four consecutive terms, will not contest the election on October 26. Although he announced that he would contest the election during the previous government. Backing away from that decision, BFF announced not to participate in the election. This is the end of Salahuddin era in football.

The four-term BFF president called an impromptu press conference on the afternoon of September 14. In that press conference, he said, ‘I will not participate in the October 26 election. I have officially informed you of my personal decision.

Former footballers and various groups were protesting against the resignation of BFF President Kazi Salahuddin or not participating in the elections. He did not comment on whether this decision was under any pressure. Before Interim government to take power Kazi Salahuddin was adamant about seeking re-election, but did not answer questions about the reason for his sudden withdrawal.

In April 2008, Kazi Salahuddin was first elected as the president of BFF. After that, he held the position of president for four consecutive terms. He had to spend a long time with journalists in his 16 years of duty. Therefore, while announcing that he will not participate in the next election, he thanked the journalists, “There have been many misunderstandings and misunderstandings with you for a long time. It may be on its way. I won’t remember anything, I hope you won’t either.’

He is a bit satisfied as Bangladesh SAF U-20 champion at the time of farewell. In this context, he said, “I worked as the president of BFF for four terms. I am lucky for that. I have made my final decision not to choose.
When Kazi Salahuddin announced his candidacy for the post of president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BAFFE) in 2008, football fans were filled with hope. Salahuddin retired as a footballer in 1984. He is the only sportsperson to be felicitated at the president Palace after his retirement from sports. After retiring in 1984,coached national teams including Muktijoddha Abahani for various periods.
