Who is the father of your nation?

Writer: Boho

Does a nation need a father at all? This question can be asked in this era of freedom of speech. America’s father George Washington, Turkey’s father Kemal Atatürk, Pakistan’s Quaid Azam Jinnah, India’s Mahatma Gandhi, etc. There are also many countries that do not have a father of the nation, such as England. Although there is no Father of the Nation in England, there is a Monarchy King or Queen. So it appears that some countries have a father of the nation and some countries do not have a father of the nation but a king. If you look at the history of these two types of countries, it can be seen that the countries which were subjugated for a long time or for a certain period of time, later emerged as independent countries and independent nations by fighting or struggling. They have accepted the person who led their struggle as the father of the nation. The Father of the Nation is not a person but a spirit.
There may be a difference of opinion on another issue, whether he is the father of the nation of Bangladesh or the father of the Bengali nation. The question may arise that Bengali speaking people live in some states of India including West Bengal, Assam. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is also their father of the nation. Here we are Kemal Atatürk, the father of the Turkish nation.
The topic can be brought up. Turkic speakers live in several countries. Among which Azerbaijan is a Turkish majority country. Nevertheless, they did not hesitate to accept Kemal as the father of the Turkish nation. Basically the once subjugated countries identify one as the father of the nation as the backbone of liberation from all disciplines including human liberation. This is a metaphor. This matter is not a matter to be adjudicated in closed court. Rather, it has been decided long ago in the court of Bengali conscience.
If we lost our freedom by losing to the British in 1757 in the wilderness of Palashi. However, since then there have been hundreds of movements, freedom movements, and rights movements. The final victory of which was achieved in 1971 through Muktijodha. And the name of the person who led this liberation war is Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Who is the representative of all independent rulers and revolutionaries of Bengal. Fakir Majnu Shah, Titumir, Khudiram, Masterda Suryasen and all the people of freedom have realized the dream of hundred years with his hands. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the father of the nation of Bangladesh according to the norms of the world society. This is a settled historical fact. Even his killers cannot deny his contribution in the freedom struggle.

Unfortunately, after so many years of independence, the new revolutionary government of 2024 is claiming that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is not the father of the nation. Their statement destroys their own existence. Because Sheikh Mujib is known as the leader of the liberation of the exploited people of the world. If the participants of the so-called student movement of 2024 consider themselves the saviors of freedom, then Sheikh Mujib should accept them. If not, they will not be exempted in the future.

Cuba’s savior Fidel Castro said: “I have not seen the Himalayas, I have seen Sheikh Mujib!”

Former Prime Minister Hasina is the president of Awami League
Biological father Sheikh Mujib. There is nothing wrong with that.
However, the activities of the Hasina government in the last 15 years have nothing to do with Bangabandhu, the father of the nation of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib cannot be blamed in any way for this. Sheikh Mujib is the father of Bengali nation it is the pride of all Bengali speakers. Because such a great world leader is second to none in this nation.

After all this, a question can finally arise whether there is so much debate about the father of their nation in any other country in the world? This issue can be taken very positively. Disputes are resolved on any matter. Strengthens consciousness in high status. The people of the country have not yet finished the debate whether George Washington, the first president of the United States, recognized as the so-called ideal country of the world, is the father of the nation or notBut they do not deny Washington’s contribution. After the so-called revolution on 5th of July, the statue of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib has been demolished in many places in Bangladesh. I believe that Bengali nationalism has been seriously injured by it. Besides, the big work that was left, that work has also been completed. That is the bleeding of the wounded heart of Bengalis, the heart of every Bengali has built a sculpture of Bangabandhu, which no invader can ever break.
