Sarfaraz Khan Defies Tradition with Explosive Maiden Test Century

In a dazzling display against New Zealand in Bengaluru, Sarfaraz Khan made headlines by scoring his maiden Test century in just 110 balls, showcasing a fearless approach that challenges conventional batting norms. His innings featured an array of dynamic shots, including late cuts, upper-cuts, and slog sweeps, prompting former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar to remark, “He’s giving the finger to the Mumbai school of batting.”

Sarfaraz’s achievement is particularly noteworthy given his long wait for an opportunity on the international stage. After making his debut earlier this year and recording two half-centuries in the home series against England, he found himself out of the playing XI during the recent Test series against Bangladesh. His electrifying performance against New Zealand signals not only a personal triumph but also a potential shift in the landscape of Test batting.

As India seeks to gain momentum in the series, Sarfaraz’s audacious style may pave the way for a new era in Test cricket, where tradition meets innovation, ultimately redefining what it means to be a modern batsman.
