Ankara, April 29, 2025 — Turkey’s Communications Directorate has firmly rejected media reports alleging that Ankara dispatched six aircraft loaded with weapons to Pakistan. The Directorate clarified that a single Turkish transport plane made a scheduled stop in Pakistan solely for refueling before continuing on its designated route. Officials emphasized that the claims circulating in some media outlets are untrue and urged the public not to rely on speculative reports lacking statements from authorized persons or institutions .  
The controversy emerged amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily Hindu tourists. In the aftermath, India accused Pakistan-based groups of involvement, leading to heightened diplomatic strains between the two nations .
While Turkey has denied the specific claims of arms shipments, it maintains a longstanding defense relationship with Pakistan, including joint arms production and technology sharing. Notably, Turkey has supplied drones to Pakistan, such as the Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci models . 
In a related development, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called for restraint between India and Pakistan, urging both countries to de-escalate tensions to prevent further conflict .
