Lahore, April 26, 2025 — A significant fire broke out at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday, leading to the cancellation of all flights and the temporary closure of the runway. The incident occurred when a Pakistan Army aircraft’s tyre caught fire during landing, igniting a blaze that quickly spread across the tarmac. 
Emergency response teams were promptly dispatched to the scene, and firefighting efforts are ongoing. While no casualties have been reported, passengers and airport staff were seen evacuating the premises amidst thick plumes of black smoke. 
Videos circulating on social media depict the chaotic scene, with travellers expressing concern over the unfolding situation. The Pakistan Army has taken control of the airport’s operations as authorities work to assess the damage and restore normalcy.
