Bollywood Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack That Killed 26 Tourists

Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir – A horrifying terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon left at least 26 tourists dead and 20 others injured. The attack, which took place around 3 PM in the scenic Baisaran Valley, has drawn widespread condemnation from across the country, with Bollywood celebrities joining political leaders in expressing sorrow, rage, and calls for justice.

The attackers reportedly descended from the mountains and opened indiscriminate fire on unarmed civilians. The area, known for its picturesque landscapes and dubbed ‘mini Switzerland,’ became a site of unspeakable tragedy.

Reacting to the news, Akshay Kumar wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families.”

Vicky Kaushal shared on Instagram: “Can’t imagine the pain of the family members who lost their loved ones in the absolutely inhumane act of terrorism… My deepest condolences and prayers.”

Janhvi Kapoor expressed profound grief, writing: “Shocked and heart broken for the innocent lives lost… trigger-happy, soullessly conditioned monsters… I fear this time nothing will be enough to quell this seething anger.”

Sidharth Malhotra, currently filming in Kerala, also issued a strong condemnation: “This cowardly act will not go unpunished. I have full faith in our armed forces. Jai Hind!”

Other Bollywood figures, including Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Anupam Kher, Raveena Tandon, Farhan Akhtar, and Kamal Haasan, also shared messages of solidarity and condemnation. Anupam Kher delivered a passionate video message, recalling past atrocities against Kashmiri Hindus and urging the public not to dismiss the reality as propaganda.

Television actor Hina Khan, who is currently in Kashmir, reacted with disbelief, posting on Instagram: “Pahalgam… Why… Why…”

Filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Farhan Akhtar, and South Indian superstars Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan emphasized the need for unity and peace while mourning the loss.

In the wake of the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his state visit to Saudi Arabia and is returning to India. Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the incident as “much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years.”

This devastating act of violence has once again placed Kashmir’s security situation under the national spotlight, with calls growing for stronger counter-terrorism measures and justice for the innocent victims.
