In the blockaded Gaza Strip, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has recruited 30,000 young fighters to join the ongoing war against Israeli forces. These fighters have been integrated into Hamas’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
According to a report by Times of Israel, citing Saudi-based media outlet Al Arabiya, the new recruits have received training in secret military camps. Their skills are reportedly focused on urban warfare, rocket attacks, and the use of explosives. While the exact timing of their recruitment remains unclear, it is believed to have occurred during the ongoing conflict.
Since October 7, 2023, a war has been ongoing between Hamas and Israel. Israeli forces have launched continuous assaults aiming to capture Gaza. Although they have seized some border regions, they have not gained full control over the territory.
Israeli military operations have resulted in the destruction of homes and the creation of a “buffer zone,” barring Palestinians from entering those areas. Gaza remains at the center of a severe humanitarian crisis due to prolonged conflict and devastation.
