Baloch Liberation Army Claims Responsibility for Coordinated Attacks in Balochistan

Balochistan, Pakistan – April 19, 2025: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks across multiple districts in Balochistan, targeting Pakistani security forces. The group described these operations as retaliation against the military’s presence and intelligence activities in the region.
In a statement, the BLA detailed four separate incidents. The first occurred in the Darchako area of Dasht, Kech district, where an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated during a bomb disposal operation by the Pakistani Army. The explosion reportedly killed one soldier and injured two others.
Later in the day, BLA operatives established a temporary checkpoint in the Notaal area of Naseerabad, conducting vehicle inspections for nearly two hours. Local police forces attempted to intervene but were met with armed resistance and forced to retreat.
In Turbat, near the Star Plus Market, BLA fighters launched a hand grenade attack on military personnel stationed at a security blockade. Casualty details from this incident remain unconfirmed.
The most targeted attack took place in Noshki’s Qadirabad area, where BLA operatives killed Naqeebullah, son of Meera Jaan Mengal. The group alleged that Naqeebullah, though no longer officially serving in the military, acted as an undercover agent for Military Intelligence (MI). He was accused of aiding the military in intelligence gathering, recruitment, and enforced disappearances.
The BLA has issued a warning that individuals collaborating with Pakistani forces, directly or indirectly, remain under surveillance by their intelligence wing, ZIRAB, and could face similar consequences.
These incidents highlight the ongoing tensions in Balochistan, where separatist groups have long accused the Pakistani state of systematic oppression and resource exploitation.
