Jack Black Confirms New Jumanji Movie Is Coming

Jack Black is heading back into the jungle! The beloved actor and comedian has confirmed he will return for the next installment of the Jumanji franchise, with the new film currently slated for a 2026 release.

Speaking during a recent appearance on Today to promote A Minecraft Movie, Black was asked about the potential for sequels to some of his most iconic films. When asked about Jumanji, he excitedly revealed that the next movie is already “in the works” — and yes, he’s part of it.

“It’s in the works,” Black said, adding there’s a “high” probability it will happen. “Spoiler alert, I’m in it!” he joked.

The upcoming film will be the fourth in the Jumanji series, following the original 1995 classic starring Robin Williams, and the reboot series that began in 2017 with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, followed by 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level.

Black is expected to reunite with franchise favorites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan for the upcoming adventure.

As for other fan-favorite films, Black also addressed potential sequels to School of Rock and The Holiday. While he admitted that a School of Rock sequel is “not likely,” he joked about the idea of a spinoff: “I heard there may be a School of Rap, though — I’d like to cameo if that’s happening.”

Regarding The Holiday, the festive romantic comedy where he starred alongside Kate Winslet, Black expressed enthusiasm: “Oh Kate, come on! Let’s do it again!”

Fans will have to wait a bit longer for the next Jumanji adventure, but with Black officially on board, excitement is already building.
