Ballistic Missile Attack on Israel

Iran-backed Yemeni rebel group, the Houthis, launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel. However, no immediate casualties or damages were reported. According to Israeli authorities, the missile was intercepted and destroyed mid-air before entering Israeli airspace.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that air raid sirens were activated across multiple cities, including central Israel, areas near Jerusalem, and parts of the West Bank, to alert residents before the attack. The IDF confirmed that this was the eighth missile attack by the Houthis on Israeli territory in recent days.

On March 18, Israel resumed military operations in Gaza, breaking a ceasefire agreement. This renewed offensive resulted in the deaths of nearly 1,000 Palestinians and thousands more injured. In response, the Houthis intensified their missile attacks on Israel.

Since the outbreak of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, the Houthis have launched multiple attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, targeting Israeli and U.S. commercial ships in support of Palestine. According to Al Jazeera, Houthi rebels also claimed to have attacked a U.S. aircraft carrier-led naval fleet in the Red Sea at least three times in the past 24 hours.
