Paul Rudd, who portrays Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding his future in the franchise. As the Russo Brothers gear up to film Avengers: Doomsday, Rudd spoke to Collider while promoting his new film Death of a Unicorn, teasing his potential return.
“They have my number. They know where I’m at, and that’s all I can say. I don’t really know how to play these things,” Rudd shared when asked about his role in the upcoming Avengers films.
Avengers: Doomsday, set for release on May 1, 2026, will mark the next chapter in the MCU’s Avengers saga, and filming is expected to begin in London in the coming weeks. The plot and casting remain tightly under wraps, but Robert Downey Jr. is confirmed to return to the MCU, playing Doctor Doom rather than Iron Man.
The Russo Brothers are also helming Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for release in May 2027. In a bid to prevent leaks and spoilers, Joe and Anthony Russo are taking extra precautions. They’ve chosen filming locations with little risk of paparazzi intrusion and are heavily restricting access to soundstages to protect the highly anticipated films.
“We’re pretty good about shutting that down,” Joe Russo explained, while Anthony added, “We’ve picked our locations with that in mind.”
With the Avengers films building anticipation, Rudd’s return as Ant-Man remains a mystery, but fans are eager for more details as the Russo Brothers prepare to unleash their next cinematic blockbusters.
