In a recent interview, Robert Pattinson opened up about how his co-star Zendaya helped calm his nerves while filming a challenging scene for their upcoming film, The Drama. The film, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, follows a couple whose relationship takes an unexpected turn just before their wedding day.
Pattinson shared that he became particularly stressed over a scene he was struggling to understand, diving deep into textual analysis and overthinking its meaning. The actor admitted that his obsession with deciphering the scene’s hidden significance caused him to lose sleep and even “go crazy” for a few days.
“I was desperately looking for its meaning, writing pages and pages of textual analysis,” Pattinson recalled. “I ended up calling Zendaya the night before shooting the scene. I shared my doubts with her, spoke for two hours, and after a while, very calmly, she made me realize that the line just said what it meant to say—there was no hidden meaning. And there I was, going crazy for three days.”
Zendaya’s calming influence provided Pattinson with much-needed reassurance, and it was a reminder of the support they shared while working together on The Drama. Their on-screen chemistry has sparked excitement for the film, which promises to explore complex emotional dynamics in a relationship facing the brink of major life changes.
In addition to The Drama, Pattinson is busy with other projects, including Die, My Love, a marital drama starring Jennifer Lawrence. In the same interview, he also reflected on his experiences working with director Lynne Ramsay and Lawrence, particularly about a scene that involved dancing. “They just find it so easy,” Pattinson said, admitting that he struggled with the idea of spontaneous dance, “I was sweating so much, the insides of my trousers were wet.”
Fans of both Pattinson and Zendaya will surely be looking forward to their performances in The Drama, set to be released later this year.
