Amazon MGM is developing a biopic about golf legend Tiger Woods, with Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground, in talks to produce. The film will be based on Kevin Cook’s book The Tiger Slam: The Inside Story of the Greatest Golf Ever Played and will focus on Woods’ incredible achievement of winning four consecutive major championships, known as the “Tiger Slam.”
Directed by King Richard filmmaker Reinaldo Marcus Green, the biographical drama will follow Woods’ rise from a child prodigy to one of the greatest golfers of all time, with 15 major championship wins and 82 PGA Tour victories. However, the film is expected to omit the personal drama in Woods’ life, including his highly publicized scandals and off-course struggles.
Woods’ life and career were previously explored in HBO’s two-part documentary series Tiger, which aired in 2021. The timeline for the upcoming biopic remains unclear, but it aligns with Amazon MGM’s push to increase its investment in film, with plans to release 12 to 14 films theatrically in 2026.
