Critics Choice Awards: Shōgun Leads TV, Anora Triumphs in Film

The 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards, held on February 7, 2025, were full of surprises and standout wins across both film and television categories. Hosted by Chelsea Handler, the prestigious event was broadcast live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Top Winners in Film
Best Picture: Anora took home the top honor, beating out strong contenders like Emilia Pérez, The Substance, and Wicked.
Best Actor: Adrien Brody for The Brutalist.
Best Actress: Demi Moore for The Substance.
Best Supporting Actor: Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain.
Best Supporting Actress: Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez.

In addition, Wicked and The Substance each received multiple awards, showcasing their widespread acclaim in various categories. Best Director went to Jon M. Chu for Wicked, while Best Cinematography was awarded to Nosferatu, and Best Production Design to Wicked. Best Animated Feature was claimed by The Wild Robot, and Best Comedy was shared by A Real Pain and Deadpool & Wolverine.

Best Drama Series: Shōgun, which led the television wins with four awards, including Best Actor in a Drama Series for Hiroyuki Sanada.
Best Actress in a Drama Series: Kathy Bates for Matlock.
