Scream 7 to Bring Back Iconic Killer Stu Macher

Scream 7 is set to resurrect one of horror’s most memorable villains, with Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher returning to the franchise. Stu, who was behind the Ghostface mask in the original 1996 Scream film, seemed to meet a grisly end after being stabbed by Billy Loomis and crushed by a television. However, in the unpredictable world of Scream, death is never certain.

According to Entertainment Weekly, while it’s unclear how Stu will return, the most likely scenario is that he will appear as a hallucination, similar to how Billy Loomis reappeared as a vision in Scream 5 through his daughter Sam (played by Melissa Barrera). Lillard hinted at his return with a cryptic Instagram video featuring the iconic quote from the original film, “My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me!”

In addition to Stu’s return, Scream 7 will also bring back Scott Foley’s Roman Bridger from Scream 3, despite Roman’s apparent death in that film. Like Stu, Roman may appear as a hallucination.

Fans of the series will also be excited to see the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, who skipped Scream 6. Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers, and Mason Gooding returns as Chad Meeks-Martin. New cast members include Isabel May, Anna Camp, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, and Sam Rechner.

Scream 7, which began filming earlier this month, promises more thrills and surprises for long-time fans of the franchise.
