Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa Forgive Each Other in Tearful Reunion

In an emotional moment on the premiere of their new HGTV show, The Flip Off, Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa opened up about their past struggles and offered each other heartfelt forgiveness. The two, who were married for seven years and share two children, discussed the ups and downs of their relationship, which ended in 2016 following a highly publicized incident involving Tarek fleeing their home with a gun.

During a private conversation in Christina’s Newport Beach home, Christina tearfully admitted to Tarek that she has struggled with jumping into relationships that weren’t right for her, revealing how difficult life has been since their split. “I don’t think anyone understands just how much we went through. We met when we were so young,” she said, breaking down in front of him.

Tarek, visibly emotional, acknowledged his role in their turbulent past, saying, “I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this.” He responded with a heartfelt, “A hundred percent [I forgive you],” reassuring Christina that he holds no resentment against her. Christina, wiping away tears, thanked him for his understanding and praised his growth over the years, saying, “You’re a great dad. I’m really proud of you.”

In a candid confessional, Tarek shared his struggles with health issues and addiction, explaining how they affected his marriage. “I got diagnosed with cancer and then I hurt my back. I lost 60 lbs. because I was taking so many opiates and painkillers,” he admitted. Meanwhile, Christina reflected on how Tarek’s focus on work often came at the expense of family, but acknowledged his positive changes.

The pair, now co-parenting their children Taylor and Brayden, have since found healing in their relationship, working together on The Flip Off, which also features Tarek’s current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. As they navigate the ups and downs of the house-flipping competition, it’s clear their emotional journey has brought them to a place of mutual respect and understanding.
