Hamas To Release Six More Hostages This Week: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas would release six more hostages this week.

Netanyahu made the announcement on Sunday night after talks with the Palestinian militant organization Hamas.

A statement from Israel’s prime minister’s office said three of the six hostages would be released on Thursday. The other three will be released on Saturday.

“The Israeli prime minister reiterated that Israel will not tolerate any violation of the agreement,” the statement said. The Israeli government will continue to work to bring back all hostages (dead and alive) in Gaza.

Netanyahu will allow displaced Palestinians to return to northern Gaza from Monday, the statement said.

Qatar’s foreign ministry, which is the broker of the ceasefire agreement, said in a statement that Israel would allow displaced Palestinians to return to northern Gaza from this morning.

Millions of displaced Palestinians are now waiting to return to northern Gaza.

Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. The attack killed 1,200 people. They took about 250 hostages and took them to Gaza.

Since that day, Israel has started indiscriminate attacks on Gaza. More than 47,000 Palestinians were killed in the 15-month Israeli invasion of Gaza. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians injured. The Gaza Strip has been reduced to rubble by Israeli attacks.
