66 people Died in The Fire at The Resort in Turkey

At least 66 people have been killed in a massive fire at a popular ski resort in Turkey. 51 people were burnt in this incident. The accident happened in Kartalkaya city of Bolu province of the country. In an interview given to the local television channel TRT, the Governor of Bolu province, Abdulaziz Aydin, said that the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the 11-story building at around 3:30 am local time. There are restaurants. On receiving information, fire service personnel tried to control the fire.

Abdulaziz Aydin also said that after hearing the news of the fire, two people died after jumping from the building. At that time there were 234 guests at the resort. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya visited the scene after receiving the news of the fire. At that time, he told reporters that 66 people died in the fire. At least one person injured in the fire is in critical condition, Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu said.

Four people, including the owner of the hotel, have been arrested in connection with the fire, Turkish Law Minister Yilmaz Tank said. The Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of Bolu province has launched an investigation into the incident. Yilmaz Tank also said that six public prosecutors have been assigned to investigate the incident. He further said that an expert team is investigating the cause of the fire.
