The Agreement Collapsed, Israel Started Attacking Gaza Again

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the start of the attack on Gaza. He issued the order citing Hamas’ failure to meet the terms of the cease-fire agreement. Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a brief statement. He said Hamas could not meet its conditions until Sunday morning.

Hamas has not given Israel a list of hostages as per the agreement. Daniel Hagary said the cease-fire will not take effect until Hamas fulfills its obligations – as per the Prime Minister’s directive. As long as Hamas fulfills its obligations to the agreement, the Israeli military will continue to attack Gaza. Meanwhile, Gaza authorities said at least eight people were killed in Israeli strikes after the ceasefire was set to expire.

The ceasefire was supposed to take effect at 8:30 am local time on Sunday. In addition, Hamas was supposed to give the list of Israeli hostages 24 hours before the ceasefire agreement came into effect. But Hamas says the list was delayed for “technical reasons”. Source: The Times of Israel
