97th Oscars Nominations to Be Announced on January 23

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is preparing to unveil the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards, one of the most anticipated announcements in the entertainment industry. The event will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 5:30 a.m. PST from the prestigious Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

This year’s nominations will celebrate the finest achievements in filmmaking, spanning 23 categories, including Best Picture, Directing, Acting, Writing, and more. The announcement will be streamed live across Oscar.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. Fans and industry insiders can also catch the announcement on ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu.

The live presentation will begin at 5:30 a.m. PST, covering categories such as Actor in a Supporting Role, Makeup and Hairstyling, Costume Design, and Writing (Original and Adapted Screenplay). The second segment, starting at 5:41 a.m. PST, will reveal nominees in categories like Best Picture, Directing, and the coveted Acting categories for leading roles.
