59 White Refugees from South Africa Arrive in the United States

A plane carrying 59 white refugees from South Africa has arrived in Washington, D.C., funded by the U.S. government. The group landed on Monday local time and was warmly received by U.S. administration officials at the airport. Many of the refugees were carrying American flags and had children with them.

While the U.S. has been tightening restrictions on other refugees and immigrants, the Trump administration has adopted a welcoming stance toward white Afrikaner refugees from South Africa. The U.S. claims these individuals face land disputes, crime, and racial discrimination in South Africa.

However, the South African government has consistently denied these allegations.

On February 7, President Donald Trump signed an executive order calling for the resettlement of white Afrikaner refugees from South Africa. The order states that these individuals are victims of unjust racial discrimination.

Afrikaners are descendants of Europeans, particularly Dutch settlers, who established themselves in South Africa generations ago. They still control a significant portion of the country’s commercial agricultural sector.
