Spain produced another dominant performance in the UEFA Nations League, defeating Croatia 4-1 at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville on Tuesday night.

Lamine Yamal scored twice, while Marc Pubill and Nico Williams also found the net for the hosts. Dion Beljo scored Croatia’s only goal.

Yamal put Spain ahead just two minutes into the match. The Barcelona forward received a clever pass from Fermín López before firing a right-footed shot past Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.

Croatia levelled in the 28th minute when Beljo headed home a cross from Ivan Perišić, scoring his first goal for the national team.

Spain quickly regained the lead. In the 31st minute, Yamal delivered an accurate cross for Marc Pubill, who headed the ball into the net to make it 2-1.

The hosts continued to control the game after the break. Yamal added his second goal in the 63rd minute after receiving a pass from Pedri and beating Livaković with a precise finish at the near post.

The goal was Yamal’s third of the current Nations League campaign, having also scored against England.

Spain sealed the victory in the 89th minute when substitute Nico Williams cut inside a defender in the box before producing a composed finish to make it 4-1.

The victory extended Spain’s unbeaten run in international football to 40 matches. They had opened their Nations League campaign with a 3-2 victory over England.

Spain now have six points from two matches and sit top of Group A3. Croatia remain on three points after their opening win over the Czech Republic, while England also have three points but sit second on goal difference.
