DHAKA, August 15 – The Nipeedon-Birodhi Sangbadik Front (Journalists’ Front Against Oppression) organised a prayer gathering in Dhaka on Saturday to mark the 51st death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and commemorate those killed on August 15, 1975.
The prayer session was held at a restaurant in the capital in the afternoon. Participants prayed for the eternal peace and salvation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the other victims of the August 15 assassination.
They also offered prayers for peace and well-being in Bangladesh and for the good health and long life of Sheikh Hasina, president of the Bangladesh Awami League, and members of her family.
Among those attending were Front Convener Akhtar Hossain, Joint Secretary Zakir Hossain Emon, and members Ashraf Ali, Golam Mujtaba Dhrubo, Soheli Chowdhury, Sajeda Haque, Rezaul Islam, Rahima Khanam, Rafiqul Islam, Russell, Emu, Nasir Uddin Bulbul,Nishat Bijoy, S. M. Rasel, Imranul Azim Chowdhury Imu and Abedin Bappy, among others.
The gathering was organised as part of the participants’ observance of August 15 and their tribute to those who lost their lives in the 1975 assassination.
