3 Gets Good News

There is some good news about Sherlock Holmes 3. Jude Law shared that the movie now has a new script.

The Sherlock Holmes movie series started in 2009 with Robert Downey Jr. playing Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson. The second movie, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, came out in 2011.

In 2018, Warner Bros. said they would make a third movie with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. But, there have been many delays since then.

Now, Jude Law says things are moving forward. He said there is a “new version of the script” and everyone wants to make the film. He said, “There’s a great will to make it. And a great will amongst us all to get it right to do it, to find the time, to find the right team.”

He also mentioned that the best part of making the first two films was his friendship with Robert Downey Jr. and Robert’s wife Susan. He hopes they will still make the third film. He added, “I think there’s a new version of the script I haven’t yet read. And then there’s a question of how expensive it is and if we can make it.”

Last year, producer Susan Downey also said they are still working on the movie and that it is important to her and Robert. She said, “It is in the hopper. We’re gonna do it when it’s right with the right people, but it is a priority for the company and a priority for Robert.”

The third movie was first planned to be released on December 25, 2020. Then it was moved to December 22, 2021. After that, it was taken off the release calendar. In 2022, director Dexter Fletcher explained that the Covid-19 pandemic caused the delays.
