Tel Aviv — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported a series of aerial security incidents on Friday, as multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran targeted southern Israel, prompting air raid sirens across several regions and defensive actions by the Israeli Air Force (IAF).According to the IDF, between 10:55 a.m. and 11:01 a.m., sirens were triggered in the Arava region due to a detected hostile aircraft infiltration. The IAF successfully intercepted the UAV, which was confirmed to have originated from Iran.A second alarm followed at 11:15 a.m. in the southern Negev area. A UAV was identified by Israel’s air defense systems. Although interception attempts were made, the UAV eventually fell in an open area, causing no casualties or damage, officials said.Shortly afterward, between 11:19 a.m. and 11:27 a.m., air raid sirens were again activated in the city of Eilat and surrounding areas. Another Iranian UAV was intercepted by the IAF before it could pose any threat to populated areas. The IDF has not yet released further details regarding the type of UAVs used or the methods of interception. However, the incidents underscore ongoing regional tensions and the increasing use of drone warfare in Iranian-Israeli confrontations.Israel’s defense establishment remains on high alert, with military officials reiterating their commitment to protecting national airspace from foreign aggression.
