A group under the banner “Protibadi Shilpi Jonota” held a silent protest and human chain at Dhanmondi 27 in Dhaka on Saturday evening, condemning the recent deaths of children and the ongoing incidents of child rape across Bangladesh.
The programme took place in front of Mina Bazar Super Shop at around 5:30pm, where protesters stood in silent solidarity demanding justice and stronger protection for children.
The demonstrators accused the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus of failing to prevent the growing violence against children and held the administration responsible for what they described as a worsening law-and-order situation.
Among those present at the protest were prominent journalist Anis Alamgir, journalist and filmmaker Kawsar Chowdhury, alongside several noted artists, actors, actresses, singers and cultural activists.
Participants called for immediate action against perpetrators of child rape and murder and urged the authorities to ensure justice and public safety.
