Tehran, May 12, 2026 — Iran has threatened to raise its uranium enrichment level to 90 percent if the United States and Israel launch another attack on Iranian territory, according to Iranian parliamentary commission spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei.
Speaking in a post on social media platform X, Rezaei said one of Tehran’s possible responses to any renewed US-Israeli military action would be increasing uranium enrichment to weapons-grade levels.
He added that the issue would be reviewed in Iran’s parliament as part of the country’s broader strategic response.
The warning comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing international concern over Iran’s nuclear activities. A 90 percent enrichment level is widely considered close to weapons-grade material, significantly escalating fears of a potential nuclear crisis in the region.
The latest remarks from Tehran are expected to further strain relations between Iran, United States, and Israel amid continuing regional instability and military tensions.
