Gaibandha, Bangladesh — A group of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees blocked the Dhaka–Rangpur highway in Palashbari upazila late at night after failing to receive their examination admit cards, triggering severe traffic disruption and public distress.

The protest began on the eve of the examinations, as around 50 students from Giridharipur Adarsha High School alleged that they had not been issued their admit cards. Frustrated and anxious about missing the crucial national exam, the students took to the streets, joined by their guardians, and staged a blockade on the key highway.

The demonstration led to long tailbacks on both sides of the road, leaving hundreds of যানবাহন stranded and causing significant inconvenience to passengers.
“We were left with no option but to protest. Without admit cards, we cannot sit for the exams,” one of the agitating students said.

Local residents also expressed concern over the situation, noting that the delay had created panic among families and disrupted normal life in the area.
Upon receiving the খবর, উপজেলা প্রশাসনের officials rushed to the scene and held discussions with the protesters. Authorities assured the students that the admit cards would be distributed promptly.
Following the assurance, the students lifted the blockade, restoring traffic flow on the highway.

Officials have yet to clarify the exact reason behind the delay in issuing the admit cards. However, they pledged to investigate the matter and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
The SSC examination is one of the most significant public examinations in Bangladesh, and any disruption in the process often leads to widespread উদ্বেগ among students and guardians alike.
